My Favorite Tools for Tension & Recovery

Tension sucks. And it’s one of those things that you never quite notice until you work on it, and then you realize you’ve been seriously missing out this whole time.

If you’ve been powering through a stiff neck, shoulders, and feet – addressing that tension is so worth it!

A good stretch with the right tools is exactly what my body has needed to feel its best. And whether it’s daily, biweekly, or several times a week – are long as you are consistent, you will feel increased mobility and all that tension melting away.

Here are my favorite go-to tools:

1) A Plush Yoga Mat

I’ve had this yoga mat for almost 3 years, and I love it. This is a must if you’re like me and love a super thick and plush yoga mat. Bonus: It’s very easy to clean.

2) Foam Roller

You never realize how much freakin’ tension is stored in your upper back, quads, and hamstrings until you foam roll. Whenever I foam roll (about once to twice a week, if I’m honest), I always say, “oh wow, no wonder I’ve been feeling XYZ.”

Bottom line: get into it; you won’t regret it.

3) Massage Ball

When it comes to caring for your feet, all I have to say is, IYKYK.

Caring for my feet has literally transformed my relationship with my parasympathetic nervous system. Between barefoot grounding and massaging out trigger points, I feel SO much more relaxed and satisfied.

Remember, our feet carry us through life, show them some love before you smush them into heels or sneakers.
